L'Arche Edmonton is the recipient of this month's group donation of $6,400.00. This non-profit association provides housing a day programs for people with and without disabilities. They are a diverse and multicultural community that celebrates the unique gifts of each individual who chooses to live and work with them.

With our largest donation to date, we presented KARA Family Resource Centre with $7000 at our latest event!
KARA helps create a better future for families and communities through supportive programs and services. We are excited to see what the centre does with these funds to work towards a better future for these families.

Congratulations to Sleep in Heavenly Peace on receiving our $6,700.00 donation! SHP is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch beds, mattresses and bedding to children and families in need. Thank you for providing such a great service to our community.

Our group raised and presented $6,200.00 to A Safe Place during our latest event. A Safe Place provides support, education, awareness and understanding in order to end domestic abuse and violence in our community. These funds will contribute greatly to this important work that they do.

February 26, 2024 - Linking Generations
At this event we presented $6,700.00 to Linking Generations Society of Alberta (our largest donation to date!). This organization works to build relationships between youth and seniors in our community by bringing the generations together to share their knowledge and life experiences, and encourages volunteering and social responsibility in youth.

October 16, 2023 - Strathcona Food Bank
Due to the price increases of groceries and basic necessities, we decided to give this month's donation directly to Strathcona Food Bank. We are very proud to have given a $6,200 cash donation, as well as 156.5 lbs of non-perishable items to the organization. Thanks you for all of the great work you do in and around Sherwood Park!​

After presentations were made, our latest group donation was awarded to CASA Mental Health. This non-profit organization delivers holistic, culturally safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans aged 3 to 18 and their families. The great work that they do in our community will be even furthered with our donation of $6,200.00

Safe Families Canada is a nationwide charitable organization dedicated to surrounding families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, they temporarily host children and provide a network of support to families in crisis while they get back on their feet. We are very proud to donate $6,100.00 to this deserving cause.

Our first in-person event was a success!
Not only did we get to spend time face-to-face, but we also donated $5000.00 to The Rainbow Society of Alberta. This inspiring charity gives the gift of hope by granting wishes for children in Alberta diagnosed with a severe, chronic or life-threatening medical illness.

Our first event of 2022 proved to be a great one!
$5500.00 was donated by our members and awarded to Little Warriors. This deserving organization provides awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse in and around our community.

Our latest group donation will go towards making sure no kids sleep on the floor in our town, thanks to the wonderful work being done by Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This $5500.00 donation will provide beds, bedding and a sense of security for so many in our community.

After all of the votes were counted following another successful Zoom event, Hope in Strathcona was awarded our $5600.00 group donation! This valuable organization offers sober living and outreach addiction recovery services to members of our community.

Many of our members were really moved by the connections this organization brings to our local seniors (and youth), especially during these very isolating times.

Our October 2020 meeting was conducted via Zoom, and after the votes were counted, BriarPatch Family Centre was the recipient of $3300.00! Their community preschool, family life counselling and grief support are wonderful services that enrich our county.

In light of this being our first event, along with the new COVID-10 restrictions being put in place, we collectively decided to donate funds to Strathcona Food Bank without holding an event. The funds were much appreciated due to the higher demand the pandemic has brought to the services that the food bank provides.
