What is 100+ Women Who Care?

The concept is simple… It is a grassroots mobilization of fundraising for community-focused impact. We are not a registered charity, non-profit organization or a club. 100+ Women Who Care - Sherwood Park is simply a group of volunteer facilitators who provide networking events to bring together caring, giving women to make an immediate, direct and positive effect on the lives of our neighbours.

We meet three times annually, and donate $100 each to one of the three charitable organizations the group has chosen to support each time.

HOW IT WORKS

On each of 3 nights during the year, 100 Women Who Care - Sherwood Park will give $10,000+/- to a local charity, non-profit, or worthy cause, right here in the Sherwood Park community. It’s fast, simple, and amazingly effective. By the end of the year, after our 3 meetings, we will then have donated $30,000+/-.

Now that is a true impact!

To join 100+ Women Who Care - Sherwood Park, please complete the Membership Registration Form found here.

Each member donates $100 per meeting. These donations must be e-transferred to womenwhocare.shpk@gmail.com prior to the evening of the event. Other payment arrangements can be made if necessary.

Three charities will present at each event. These charities are nominated by our members via the Nominate page of this website, found here. Each of the three charities must be selected 10 days prior to the meeting. They will be given 5-10 minutes for a representative of the charity to make a presentation to our group.

The group will then vote by ballot (or email when meeting via Zoom), and the charity which receives the most votes will be given our donation.

Even if you may have voted differently, you must still donate. All funds go to one charity.

No national charities will be considered; however, local branches of national charities are eligible for consideration. The purpose is for 100% of the contribution to stay in Sherwood Park and area.

All participating charities must agree NOT to use member names for future solicitations, nor give the information out to the public.

The chosen organization will issue individual tax receipts to each donating member.

Charities can re-submit their application each time in order to have the opportunity to be selected again. However, exceptions do apply:

For the organization that was selected to receive the donation, they must wait for 24-months before being considered again.

If an organization presented but was not awarded the donation, they must wait for 12-months before being considered again.
